IN THE BATHROOM: SUSPENDED SANITARY OR EARTHED?
If you are reading this article you are probably renovating your bathroom or you are about to do it and you are undecided whether to install suspended sanitary ware or the classic ones resting on the ground.
This article is for you!
Let's see together the pros and cons of both:
1. Suspended Healthcare:
Pro
They are increasingly in demand due to their small size and ease of assembly.
They do not require silicone seals and therefore are aesthetically more "clean".
Remaining suspended from the ground, they also make cleaning the floor very easy as the broom or vacuum cleaner or other cleaning tools can pass under them.
Versus
Be careful, however, because suspended sanitary fixtures require the discharge of black water on the wall and therefore not always the possibility of installing them. In fact, on masonry walls very often there is not enough space to build the masonry and it is not possible to create a plasterboard false wall due to lack of space.
If instead we already have an existing plasterboard wall, a relevant problem is the evaluation of its resistance. In fact, the suspended sanitary fixtures require a reinforcement structure that guarantees the seal against suspended loads.
In any case, a preliminary assessment is recommended in the presence of an expert to avoid costs due to masonry work or structural adjustment.
2. Sanitary "on the ground"
Pro
Simple to assemble, these sanitary fixtures have evolved over time to modern and small aesthetic solutions to compete with the "suspended" category.
In addition, there are wall-mounted models that take up very little space from the wall (up to a maximum of 50 cm), making the bathroom much more spacious without losing functionality and comfort.
This type of sanitary ware can be installed anywhere.
Versus
As mentioned above, the positioning more or less detached from the wall does not allow an optimal cleaning of the surfaces.
Furthermore, the need to apply silicone seals creates additional problems of an aesthetic nature.
