Thanks to the presence of numerous natural deposits of mineral gypsum, there is in general an abundance of raw material and, also in Italy, several factories have been created for the treatment of the material.

After the extraction phase from the quarry, the gypsum is stored in special areas and then brought to the processing plants where it is crushed, ground and sieved.

At this point, it is important to dehydrate the oven at a temperature of about 170 degrees that makes the material workable and ready to undergo the last treatments:

• Grinding. It can make the product more or less granular according to the type of application for which it is intended.

• Cooling down. It serves to stabilize the uniformity of the product.

• Transformation. Specific additives or fibers are added to the gypsum which transform the physical-mechanical qualities (wood fibers, silicates, ..).
