Guide how to hang an object on plasterboard with plasterboard plugs
PLASTERBOARD DOWELS: they replace traditional nails which have no seal on the slabs. They have an expansion structure that grips the air gap behind the plasterboard sheet, ensuring optimal grip. You can buy them in hardware stores, from plasterboard retailers and at "advanced" paint factories.
Application:
• Position the dowel where it was decided to hang the object;
• With the help of a hammer insert the tip of the dowel into the slab;
• Take a screwdriver and screw the plug into the plasterboard.
• At this point the plug is inserted in the slab and externally we see it flush with it.
• We take a screwdriver and position the screw of the plug inside it.
• Tighten the screw to allow the tip of the plug (placed in the interspace) to grip the slab.
ADVANTAGE: cheaper solution than glue and double sided adhesive. The object can be easily hung or removed from the wall. The dowel hole will then be easily covered with a little grout.
DISADVANTAGE: you need a drill to screw the plug into the slab. The operation can cause dust and dirt.
