WALL RADIANT SYSTEM

Composed of radiant panels positioned mainly in the walls of the room facing outwards. This is because the insulators that act as a coat for the wall are inserted under the pipes. The radiant system usually occupies 1/3 to 1/2 of the floor area and never exceeds 2 meters in height.

Radiant skirting system

This system involves the installation of a special skirting board where small pipes circulate in which hot water flows. The air that comes into contact with the pipe heats up, comes out of a slot above the baseboard and rises to adhere to the wall that heats up and radiates heat in the room.

NB: the furniture can be placed in front of the skirting board because it does not act as a screen but partially absorbs and reflects heat.

Laying of the panels

The laying of radiant wall panels is very simple.

Above the wall is placed the insulation on which the pipes are fixed and then the cement plaster is spread to cover the whole.

A plaster mesh and a surface finish complete the work.

The laying of the radiant skirting is even easier and can be done even in houses already inhabited, as it does not require invasive masonry works.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES.

Advantages

Wall heating has some advantages over the floor heating:

• The installation is so easy that there are ready-made modules on the market;

• The radiant walls heat up first (both because there is less space between the pipe and the wall, and because water circulates at a higher temperature);

• With the appropriate modifications, the radiant wall systems can refresh by running cold water inside the pipes.

• The advantages of radiant skirting are listed below:

• Drying of the walls and therefore elimination of mold with consequent psycho-physical well-being;

• elimination of moving dust (important aid for allergy sufferers and asthmatics);

• Rapid and enveloping heating, qualitatively optimal.

Disadvantages

On the other hand, however, there are also some disadvantages:

• Be careful when working on the walls at home to avoid breaking the pipes (hang a picture or a shelf, ...);

• In very large rooms, in the center of the room, heat can be perceived in a lower way;

• Reduced furnishing as it is preferable not to place bulky furniture against the radiant walls.
