Wall flush skirting guide on plasterboard 1
In case of plasterboard wall still to be built
Below are easy step-by-step instructions for installing a flush-mounted skirting board on a plasterboard wall that is still to be built:
• Using a magnetic bubble level, identify the positioning height of the flush skirting board profile (the height can also be established with a laser);
• Wear protective gloves to prevent chemical fixing from damaging the skin and a mask with filter so as not to breathe in the smell directly;
Once the exact dimension has been identified, proceed with fixing the profile to the plasterboard wall structure using black 3.5x25 phosphated screws or chemical fixings such as low expansion polyurethane foam;
• To join the bars of the flush-wall skirting profile to each other, use special joints and for the corners of the wall use corner joints;
• Once the skirting board has been positioned on the ground, the protruding part of the profile will create a sort of track, on which the plasterboard sheets that will make up the wall will be housed;
• Check with a magnetic bubble level that the profiles have been positioned correctly (the height can also be established with a laser);
• Close the wall with all the necessary plates (see article “Building a plasterboard wall”);
• Pay attention to the grouting and smoothing of the slab resting on the profile rail;
• Remove the protective film from the external plates and then attach the latter to the skirting board profile fixed to the wall.
• The final result will be a perfectly linear wall without protrusions or imperfections.
