Plasterboard coupled with lead sheet panel
There are cases in which sound insulation is required but there is not much space available to apply the classic systems with insulating panels or to create sound absorbing cavities.
In these situations it will be necessary to proceed using a plasterboard plate coupled with a high-density mass of low-modulus lead rubber.
Lead foil panel
Available on the market in various thicknesses (from 0.3 mm up to 5 mm), this special material isolates the plasterboard from the vibrations of the sound, increasing the mass of the entire building system, greatly improving the soundproofing of the wall or false ceiling without bringing away too much space from the environment.
To ensure the continuity of the acoustic system's performance, lead adhesive strips are also sold to be positioned at the joints.
Curiosity:
Thanks to its unique characteristics, this kind of solution is also optimal for shielding walls and ceilings in radiological rooms in order to avoid the propagation of radiation.
NB: The thickness of the lead sheet necessary for protection against X-rays will be indicated by the expert designers of the radiology laboratory.
