The plasterboard upstand is one of those fundamental tools that every operator in the sector should have inside his equipment park.
Using a mechanical lifter plates is undoubtedly the fastest and most effective way to lift plasterboard panels, avoiding back pain, especially if you are a professional installer and you have to do this several times throughout the day.
The time that will be saved in applying the ceiling slabs will fully repay the cost of the slab.
Description of a lift
The instrument in question is composed of 3 distinct collaborating blocks.
Wheel block: it is the least important part of the mechanical lifter plates and can have 3 or 4 wheels depending on the model.
Central block: it is the "body" of the slab and contains two basic parts of the same as the cylindrical lifting crank and the lifting column. Both these parts may vary depending on the chosen instrument.
Headrest block: this is the highest part of the table-top and it is the part on which the slabs are placed that will then be raised to the ceiling. The headrest block is presented as a steel rectangle that can be extended as desired by opening the two end bars equipped with "locking springs". It is important to note how the headrest block automatically folds vertically (perpendicular to the floor) when it is lowered, to receive the slab, thus assuming an angle that allows it to be easily loaded and how it is positioned horizontally while standing up towards the ceiling (then going in adherence with the same) allowing the application of the screws to the structure of the false ceiling as if it were an extra worker that holds up and stops the slab.
Specific technical features
It is now important to analyze all the technical features that can affect the price of the instrument.
Maximum lifting height of the slab: on average, an upper riser reaches 4.00 meters in height. Higher heights are to be considered a plus of the instrument.
Braking wheels: on average this instrument has n. 2 braking wheels. The presence of n. 3 braking wheels is to be considered an element of improvement.
Locking system: usually the upstand has a steel stop which blocks the lifting column only in case of an uncontrolled rapid descent. The presence of a block also during the ascent phase represents an improvement safety system.
Advice from TuttoCartongesso
1. Transportability: there are old-fashioned upstanders that do not provide the possibility to detach the wheels and so the instrument cannot be loaded into a small car but only in a van occupying a lot of space. Check, at the time of purchase, that the model foresees the detachment of the wheels and, consequently, the possibility of being stored in the trunk of a car.
2. CE Mark: The CE mark expresses the quality and safety of the products and specifies that the object in question is compliant with the requirements of the European directives in relation to safety. Using a CE boarding plate on site, you can be sure to use a product that complies with current regulations, thus avoiding administrative penalties caused by the use of tools that do not expose the CE mark.
3. Warranty: every construction equipment requires a guarantee on the consumable parts that allows the user to be comfortable with the purchase made. It is not an exception to the plate-lifters, therefore, at the time of purchase, an invoice will be required and it will be the dealer's duty to guarantee a time limit within which the instrument is guaranteed in quality in its mechanical parts of consumption.
