HOW TO REPLACE HEATERS

Given that replacing a radiator is complex and dangerous work and suitable only for professionals, below are easy step-by-step instructions for carrying out the work:

• Close the main supply tap and all the valves and holders of all the radiators in the house;

• Spread the high-resistance cover cloth on the ground to protect the flooring under the radiator to be replaced;

• Wear protective gloves, protective goggles and a professional P1 type mask;

• Position the low and wide container for water under the purge valve in order to protect the flooring from any water leaks;

• Eliminate the air inside the heater by opening the lockshield valve;

• All the water has come out, close the upper valve and seal the bottom lockshield screw;

• Loosen the nuts on the supports;

• Slowly and carefully detach the heater from the wall by removing the shanks connected to the valve and lockshield;

• Take the new radiator and connect the new shanks to the upper valve and the lockshield;

• Before hanging the radiator, make sure that the breather, the closing cap and the two fittings for the entry and exit of the hot water are assembled (consisting of a male threaded sleeve fitted inside a female threaded ring);

• Place the new radiator in position and screw the lockshield union;

• Now carefully unscrew the screw of the lockshield, so that the liquid entering pushes the air out of the union of the upper valve that has not yet been screwed;

• When the water starts to come out of the upper filler, you can tighten it definitively and then open the valve;

• Now paint the radiator using special epoxy and non-toxic paints. N.B: it is advisable to carry out this operation long before installing the radiator so that the paint takes root well and does not deteriorate with heat.

CAUTION:

1. Before proceeding with the replacement of the radiator, carefully check the dimensions of the radiator so that the new radiator has the same dimensions and can be housed in the same place as the previous one.

2. During the radiator relocation operations, be careful to compensate for the system pressure.

3. Paint the radiator only if strictly necessary using only special epoxy paints.
