How to repair nail holes on plasterboard

 

The plasterboard is now the material of excellence in the building world and it is always easier to find, inside the houses, plasterboard walls on which to fix a picture or a shelf or any other object to hang.

But if the nails or dowels used for hanging, once removed from the wall leave a hole on the plate?

How can the damage be repaired?

Assessment of damage and repair in 8 steps:

If the hole we have caused is small it will be sufficient to intervene by applying some putty and proceed with the repair:

• place a 4x4 cover sheet on the ground to protect the floor from dust and debris;

• use a professional cutter to file damaged paper and plaster around the hole;

• put putty in the hole;

• If the hole is still not covered well wait for the grout to dry and repeat the operation;

• fill the entire affected area with a professional spatula.

• let the filler dry and repeat the operation until you get a perfect shave.

• sand the area with a manual grinder until the surface is smooth and uniform.

• pass the primer and paint with a special plasterboard paint and an internal roller.
