Guide to prepare and apply cementite

Here are easy step-by-step instructions to prepare the cementite and then apply it on an MDF or wood surface:

How to prepare it

It is necessary to follow the indications given by the manufacturing companies.

Usually we proceed by diluting with odorless turpentine (50 ml of turpentine each liter of "Cementite") but in any case dilution with "Nitro" should be avoided.

Usually with 1 liter of cementite you can paint about 7-8 square meters of surface.

N.B: the "Cementite" must be diluted according to the material where it will be applied.

How to use and apply it

• Spread corrugated cardboard and cover sheets on the ground to protect the flooring;

• Wear protective gloves and a professional P1 type mask;

• Take a manual grinder and sandpaper with a grain suitable for smoothing the MDF;

• Rub vigorously in the direction of the wood grain;

• Apply the Cementite with the classic brushes or with sponge or satin hair rollers. N.B: the compressor can also be used for the application of Cementite. This operation is recommended only for work on large surfaces;

• Drying to the touch usually takes 5-7 hours, while deep drying can take up to a full day;

• Once the product has dried, proceed with the second coat of the same.

CAUTION:

Be careful in making the same number of brush strokes on both sides of the MDF. This is because if the panel absorbs more on one side than on another, the risk is that it can be distorted by losing its linearity.

CAUTION:

The advice to get an optimal job is to contact a highly specialized company that can help you.
