Ratings
To create a plasterboard walk-in closet, you necessarily need to create a space between the existing wall and the plasterboard counterpart that you are going to build.
The size of this space will automatically be the internal size of the walk-in closet.
After outlining the drawing of the walk-in closet on a sheet of paper, calculate the room measurements and spaces well and proceed with the creation of the plasterboard wall.
Mounting system:
• Lay on the ground, to protect the flooring, corrugated cardboard and cover cloths or, alternatively, felt cloth;
• Outline on a sheet of paper and then transfer on the wall, with a construction pencil, helping with the measurements with a professional tape measure, a positioning scheme of the door hatch in MDF calculating well dimensions and centimeters in order to avoid installation errors;
• Position the uprights in such a way that the 10 cm "Door Lock" aluminum frame can fit perfectly between them. N.B: the door sizes are customizable and tailored.
• Synchronize with a construction site square and a magnetic level with vials that the product is squared (ie the corners of the structure are at 90 degrees). Please note: the MDF retractable trap door differs from the previous ones as well as for the technical-mechanical characteristics, also for the assembly system. In fact, the 10 cm "Lock Leaf" aluminum frame must be fixed directly on the vertical uprights with self-drilling screws through the use of a screwdriver with depth adjustment;
• The desired compartment door is thus obtained;
• Then check that the push pull opening system works perfectly. Note: if the door does not close properly, it will be possible to improve its position by adjusting the hinges with a screwdriver;
• Complete everything by placing the plasterboard sheets on the outside of the wall, in adherence to the protruding profile of the frame, for a perfect flush door;
• Filling:
• Now proceed with the professional grouting of the joints and the heads of the screws;
• Then wait for the grout to dry and if necessary pass a second coat (see article on grouting and follow the instructions);
• Sand everything with a manual grinder by removing the excess grout present and flattening any discrepancies in the work;
Decoration and fantasy:
• Now pass a layer of fixative with a brush;
• All that remains is to proceed to decorate and paint the newly created door, leaving room for imagination.
Tools and materials:
• Meter (measuring tape or folding wooden meter)
• Construction pencil
• Magnetic level with vials
• Construction site team 90 degrees
• Screwdriver
• Screwdriver drill with depth adjustment
• Ladder
• Self-drilling screws
