Flush wall skirting guide on plasterboard 2
In case of existing plasterboard wall
Here are easy step-by-step instructions for installing a flush-mounted skirting board on an existing plasterboard wall:
• Using a magnetic bubble level, identify the positioning height of the flush skirting board profile (the height can also be established with a laser);
Once the exact dimension has been identified, proceed with fixing the profile to the plasterboard sheets already fixed to the wall by means of black 3.5x25 phosphated screws;
• To join the bars of the flush-wall skirting profile to each other, use special joints and for the corners of the wall use corner joints;
• Once the skirting board has been positioned on the ground, the protruding part of the profile will create a sort of track, on which the plasterboard sheets will be housed, which will form a second layer of the wall (double sheet wall);
• Check with a magnetic bubble level that the profiles have been positioned correctly (the height can also be established with a laser);
• Fasten the second layer of slabs to the existing wall using black 3.5x25 phosphated screws and in correspondence with the aluminum uprights use black 3.5x35 phosphated screws allowing their fixing directly on the structure;
• Pay attention to the grouting and smoothing of the slab resting on the profile rail;
• Remove the protective film from the external plates and then attach the latter to the skirting board profile fixed to the wall;
• The final result will be a perfectly linear wall without protrusions or imperfections.
