DRIVING TILE ON PLASTERBOARD
Following are easy step by step instructions to create a tiled wall on a plasterboard surface:
⁃ Remove, with a brush or a damp cloth, as much dust as possible from the plasterboard.
⁃ Outlining on a piece of paper and then transferring it roughly to the wall with a construction pencil, helping with the measurements with a professional flexometer, a tile positioning scheme, calculating dimensions and centimeters well, to avoid laying errors.
⁃ Wear protective gloves to prevent the fixative or glue from damaging the skin and a filter mask to not directly breathe product odors.
⁃ Now apply the appropriate fixative to the slab with a short-haired microfibre roller to obtain a better grip of the skim coat.
⁃ Wait for the fixative to dry and spread, evenly, checking the linearity of the wall, the leveling compound with a bubble level.
⁃ Drown a fresh knitted fiberglass net in the freshly stretched rind in 0.4x0.4 cm. The net will provide the entire wall with a solid structure and will act as a reinforcement "armor".
⁃ Spread over the fiberglass mesh, homogeneously, checking with a bubble level the linearity of the wall, the elastic and water-repellent adhesive suitable for the application of tiles on plasterboard with a notched trowel (NB: it is necessary that the glue can resist the "natural" micromovements that a wall of plasterboard can suffer over time mainly due to thermal changes).
⁃ Take the tiles and place the first one starting from the bottom and following the scheme described above (NB: usually the experts of the sector always start from the second row to ensure that, once the whole is done, the first row acts as a "repairer" bringing small corrections on the joints and aligning the wall symmetrically).
⁃ Press firmly on the adhesive but without excessive force to prevent the glue from moving.
⁃ Place the special pvc cross spacers in the corner of the tile just positioned to indicate the correct size of the joint to be made between the tiles.
⁃ Carry out the same operations on the entire surface area (N.B: every 5/6 tiles positioned, it is advisable to check the correct application progress with the level bubble).
⁃ When applying pressure to the tiles, remove any glue that leaks from the joints and that is excess.
⁃ At the end of the installation wait about three hours and then apply (with a specific gun), only on the joints, a special clear acetic sealant to prevent water infiltration and to accommodate the dimensional movements of the tile roof.

CAUTION:
Covering a plasterboard wall is not difficult but you have to pay attention to some details:
⁃ Preferably use plasterboard with the colored sheet of green as it is designed to be applied in humid environments such as bathrooms or kitchens.
⁃ Check the weight of the tiles, as the plasterboard sheet may weaken over time or undergo deformations caused by overheating.
⁃ Check that the glue, besides being elastic, is also resistant to moisture and water, in fact usually a tiled wall is made in a bathroom or more generally in humid environments.
⁃ Pay attention to every 5/6 tiles when positioning them and do not wait until the adhesive solidifies, because it will no longer be possible to make changes to the wall.
