What is a "Primer"

The "Primer" is a colorless chemical product with high elasticity and adhesion.

It comes in liquid form and can be painted over.

It was created to be applied on surfaces in preparation for painting and in particular on smooth substrates (such as plasterboard sheets), improving the possibility of adhesion to the same by adhesives and plasters.

N.B: using a high quality "Primer" allows to reduce the consumption of binder.

Preparation

The "Primer" must be diluted strictly following the instructions on the packaging.

If you still notice the formation of a film, it will be necessary to dilute the product even more.

N.B: each product has its own dilution tables. There is no universal standard.

Application times

The "drying" times vary from product to product but generally takes about 4 hours to dry in depth while to the touch the area where it is applied is dry after just 45 minutes.

Types of application

The "Primer" is also called a clinging agent and the composition changes according to the use.

In order to ensure maximum sealing resistance, a primer must be applied in two layers.

N.B: let an interval of at least 45 minutes pass between one layer and another.

Required tools

The "primer" can be applied with a roller or with a brush.

A valid alternative (reserved especially for professionals) is a smooth edge spatula.

In any case, a perfectly flat surface must be created.
